Hi Guys

A Wee newsletter

After discussions with Ronnie, he explained that he found it difficult to attend pre-meets because of work commitments, so without any delay, I will resume the mantle of collecting all names and money in future for weekends away.

(However, I will still notify Ronnie the numbers to carry out any bookings)

There is also the problem of the November weekend at the Lake District which is, the hostel will only accept bookings for a definite number rather than “can you accept a booking for 15? Then change it later to 20 or whatever the amount

If we book the amount that number would have to be paid for, so, at the pre-meet last night for the benefit of those that couldn`t make it, it was decided that we should pay for the Lake District weekend earlier than normal, so, with this in mind, I would like everyone that wishes to go to bring along the sum of £30 no later than the pre-meet for the September weekend which is the 23rd of Sept.

(You can pay earlier than this if you wish, but don`t give me the cash in the middle of a hill walk, However, I will accept it in the pub after!)

If you decide to go after this deadline, I will give you the contact number; however, you must not make the booking under the name of the Club as you may deprive someone from the Club, who has booked in time, who arrives later than you from getting a bed along with the rest of the others.

(Unfortunately, we've had problems with this in the past)

Accommodation in the hostel is dormitory. That means sharing with others and no cooking facilities, however, they can supply Continental or full cooked breakfasts, (this should be notified when booking)

And there is tea and coffee provided constantly.

For the benefit of any new members at the Agm Feb. 2006 a recommendation was made and accepted that for any weekend bookings to be accepted, it was not sufficient to say “Put my name down”! Only those that had paid the full amount, (Which is normally £30) would be accepted. And that this sum should be paid no later that the pre-meet of the “Previous month”

Again if you book after this it must be under the provision that you do so under your own name and not the name of the Club for the above reasons.
