Davy`s West Highland Highway

Hi everyone

It's true I finally did it!

After all of the doubts, the training eventually paid off, and my original target which I thought that I would struggle to achieve some of my mates have said that I have blasted out of the water!

Original targets first.

This was 150 miles =Ended up 186 miles

Height of 60,000 ft = Ended up 74,000 feet

And the count of Munros of 24 =Ended up at 30! (I got bored on my rest days Ha Ha!)

Anyway I would like to thank a few people for their support, the ones that joined me on a couple of the days and many thanks for the group who came along to support me on my last day (And my party!)

And although the weather report was really terrible, it was mostly just drizzle, however, it still didn`t deter the rest of the usual hordes who were undeterred and coming up with the old “Adidas Cagoules” on!

A thousand thanks once again to Jim and Jean at Tyndrum who picked me up at the end of each day of my first week and dropped me off again at the same point the next day, and Jean made sure that I had huge intakes of Pasta and Guinness most nights!

My new friends of Ann from Wales who joined me on one of my days and then a “Rest Day”

(Ha!) And that she thought that I was mad but brilliant! But also a total “Sweetheart “!
Thanks also to Elaine and her mum Joyce from Edinburgh who when I took them up the Buachaille on another rest day were so elated that they too like Ann gave me a huge hug at the summit and were so grateful that they took me out for a meal and Guinness and wouldn’t let me pay for any of it!

Other thanks to Callum who owns Blackwater hostel who I stayed with for two nights in the Hostel when I was completing the Mamores and he said that my hostel funds should be added to my sponsor money!

Also the group of three guys who gave me sponsor money on top of the Aonach Eagach!

And John from Peterhead who I met in Callum`s hostel and also gave me money, thanks guys.

A special thanks to Glynn, Margot, Neil and Kate for the presentation of the beautiful Quaich at the finish.

And I would ask that for those people that have still to donate their sponsor money do so at the earliest opportunity , as I would like to hand the funds over to Macmillan Cancer Support and also Mountain Aid,
